Once again, in cooperation with Quiet Harbor Events & Wellness, The Practice Room is honored to present Andean Shamans visiting from Peru. We were honored to have them visit us at our previous location last Summer; if you missed them last year please take the rare opportunity this August to be in the presence of the real thing. Don Martin Pinedo is a renowned Peruvian Shaman and caretaker of Apu Pachatusan, one of the sacred Andean mountains of Peru. He has been practicing energy medicine and performing sacred healing ceremonies for over 25 years, with knowledge to offer us about this ancient medicine tradition. Also, Marco Nunez is a shaman facilitator, the owner of Frontier Expeditions. He has been leading tours trekking through the Andes Mountains for over 30 years, and leading tours throughout Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.

Workshops 6:30 - 8:30 pm (August 9 and 10):

Join us for authentic exposure to the Teachings, Healings and Cleansing Ceremonies of the Andean Shamanic Traditions in the evening Shamanic Workshop. Participants will learn about the Andean cosmology system, energy medicine, balancing the chakra system, using sacred objects to heal.

In the Ceremony Workshop you will experience specific ceremonies including a Despacho which is an offering to Pachamama (mother earth) and the group will receive healing. You will experience an environment of Munay (love) and we will celebrate becoming a community, experience the “oneness” and the magnificence of mother earth.

solutions, the chakras and the labyrinth
Sunday, June 6, 2010 ~ 3:00 - 4:30 pm

Join Edith Hamersma in this informational and experiential workshop that takes us on a journey through the labyrinth as a tool for problem solving, integration of our energy centers (chakras) and healing. Participants will walk a full size labyrinth and gain understanding of how to use this tool toward personal growth and transformation, including how it influences the brain by engaging the logical aspects of the left hemisphere and freeing up the intuitive, creative aspects of the right hemisphere. Through story and examples, poetry and instruction Edith encourages openness and awareness of possible situations in which use of the labyrinth might be helpful. This workshop is appropriate for anyone facing decisions or looking for ways to approach important life transitions with more openness to possibilities. Participants should bring along an 8 1/2" x 11" notebook and pen. Pre-registration is required.

About Edith Hamersma  

Edith Hamersma's work with the labyrinth and stress reduction brings together three parts of her life experience: a thirty year teaching career; training in family counseling through a masters degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York; an abiding interest in story and poetry. This foundational experience evolved into an interest in the connections between mind, body and spirit and led to her training with Lauren Artress whose work with the labyrinth as a blue print for growth and transformation has national and international connections. Further exploration revealed the importance of the labyrinth as a functional tool for those with attentional difficulties such as AD/HD and the connection between the labyrinth and our chakras, or energy centers in the body. Edith's additional training includes study with Jon Kabat-Zinn, 1979 founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) which is connected with UMass Medical Center. Edith completed the practicum for teaching MBSR in the Spring of 2007.

This is a high-energy, total body conditioning class.

Please bring your own free weights, a water bottle and a yoga mat. (If you don't have a mat you can use ours!) Wear layers as if weather is nice we may be outside

About Courtney Van Etten

Courtney Van Etten is a well- established fitness trainer.  For six years, she was the highest ranked trainer at the prestigious Bay Club Bank of America in San Francisco, CA.  Courtney has been in the fitness and personal training profession for over nine years. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of New Hampshire, Courtney attained professional certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. She is a Postural Alignment Specialist certified through the Egoscue Method, a Mat Pilates Instructor and a Sports Yoga Instructor. Her philosophy is that fitness should be about balance and being healthy is a way of life!

Intuitive Healing Therapy is presented in three 6 month long modules, plus a fourth advanced clinical level. Each level can be taken independently. Each 6 month immersion is a profound journey in personal healing that requires commitment and the willingness to take personal responsibility for ourselves on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.

Level I Intuitive Healing Therapy

Level I IHT is a 6 month immersion in the principles and practices of self-realization, connection and healing. Through the development of conscious awareness, personal and emotional excavation and taking responsibility for ourselves we begin to integrate deeper levels of intuitive awareness and discernment on the energetic levels. As we learn to distinguish between what is "ours" and what is not on the emotional level we develop objective awareness of the ego and begin to identify and release ego defenses that no longer serve us. This is an intensive and empowering healing process that brings great clarity of self, creating a sense of self-worth, non-judgment, acceptance and compassion. Establishing this level of clarity allows us to more easilty read the subtle levels of energy that exist in this dimension, leading us in to a whole new realm of connection and understanding. Energetic sensitivity and development is an invaluable foundation for the deeper levels of Intuitive Healing work.

Level II and Level III Intuitive Healing Therapy

Level II and Level III IHT presents a deepening of the foundation of personal healing and awareness into the extension of energetic and group dynamics. We continue to work deeply with personal healing as we explore more advanced levels of energy work, visual and energetic diagnosis, foundations of macrobiotic philosophy and nutritional healing, human constitution and condition, professional and relational boundaries and skills for the healer, advanced personal practices for sustained connection to source, development of internal guidance and healing.

Clinical Intuitive Healing Therapy - Level IV

Completion of Level I Intuitive Healing Therapy does not certify the participant as an Intuitive Healing Therapist. For students wishing to advance into Clinical Intuitive Healing Therapy work all three levels of training must be completed satisfactorily, including all required work on personal and academic levels, as well as fourth level internship including an advanced level written thesis and service oriented project. Supervision at this level is mandatory.

Certification hours per Level: 60

Tuition per Level I, II and III: $950.00

Deposit Required: $300.00
