Reiki Healing Therapy

Reiki at The Practice Room

Reiki, pronounced Ray-Key, means universal life force. It is a gentle form of hands on healing that channels energy into the cells of the body, which the body’s own intelligence then integrates for maximum healing benefit. Reiki has been known to effectively treat and heal all forms of physical injury and disease, sleep disturbances, as well as emotional blockages.

A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, Reiki promotes healing on a very deep, body-intuitive level. The intelligence of the body utilizes the healing energy in the highest alignment for each individual. The word Reiki is made up of two words: Rei, which means God’s Wisdom or Higher Power, and Ki, which means life force energy. Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy”.

Reiki treatments address the whole person. Reiki provides glowing warmth that flows through and around the individual, infusing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies with healing energy, creating many beneficial effects such as relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki is simple, natural and safe. It’s a method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that anyone can benefit from. It is beneficial when combined with other therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Tracey Pratt is a Reiki Master with a BS in Behavioral Science and a Minor in Family Studies. She is also completing her 200 Hour Certification as a Yoga Instructor at the Abhyasa Yoga Institute. Drawn to yoga during a dark place in her life Tracey found that yoga lifted her up and introduced her to individual freedom, empowerment and peace on the mat.

In 2008 Tracey was introduced to Reiki. While her first experience was a skeptical one,  she did feel lighter and more relaxed. By her third experience she was hooked and felt drawn closer to the Universe and to the Angelic Realm through each experience. This led to subsequent study and the certification as a Reiki Master with Carol Wallace in the Usui Lineage. Since then Tracey has enjoyed sharing with people the joy that comes from Reiki treatments.

Please note that after any form of energy and healing work the participant (you) will feel “wide open”, therefore more sensitized to the world around you. It is important to become grounded after a private session, to feel your feet on the earth, the temperature of the air on your skin, etc. At The Practice Room you are invited to enjoy a cup of tea, sit, meditate, read or journal before heading out to greet the rest of your day. If possible leave time for soft re-integration after this form of healing work, so that you can have some breathing room to gently shift back to ordinary awareness and functioning. It is best to avoid conflict and stressful situations and to embrace self-care and nurturing. Drink plenty of water for 3 days after a session to help facilitate the process of purification with ease.
